Covid PCR test Brighton

Covid PCR test Brighton

Are you fit to fly?

Planning a holiday but worried about your COVID-19 status? Most airlines and countries are now asking travellers for a Fit to Fly certificate to prove that they have had a negative COVID-19 PCR (antigen) test result in the 72 hours before arrival. Also, it is a government requirement to have a PCR test before travel and on return.

Green list countries and territories

From 17 May, if you are returning from countries on the green list you will not need to isolate or quarantine on your return. However, you will still need to take a PCR test on or before Day 2 after you have arrived in England.

You will receive your booking reference number once your order is placed.

For travelers arriving from Green list countries, simply take the test in the comfort of your own home and send it to the lab. It should be returned in the pre-paid secure packaging to our partner lab using Royal Mail tracked 24 hour delivery.

AMBER LIST COUNTRIES AND TERRITORIES

Day 2 and day 8 COVID-19 PCR testing bundle for international arrivals into the UK from amber list.

All international arrivals from Amber list countries are required to take a test on or before day 2 (of their quarantine period), for variant surveillance, and a test on or after day 8 (of their quarantine period). If you arrive from a country on amber list, you can isolate at home.

The Covid-19 PCR test is designed to determine if you are currently infected with Covid-19. Most countries are now asking for a negative PCR test (fit-for-travel).  This test involves taking a swab sample and sending the sample to the lab for investigations. The results are emailed to you with a certificate.

Government confirms traffic light list ahead of cautious return to international travel:

The 12 countries and territories on the green list are:

  • Portugal
  • Israel
  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Brunei
  • Iceland
  • Gibraltar
  • Falkland Islands

  • Fill in a passenger locator form online before leaving their destination
  • Take a private PCR test on or before day two of their arrival in England

There will be no need to quarantine when back home, or take additional tests, unless the post-arrival test is positive.

Amber countries

How does home testing work?

The test involves taking a swab from the nostrils and back of the throat, which you will then need to send to a lab for analysis.

Once you've ordered your test from Burwash Pharmacy, you should:

  1. Take the swab following instructions included in the box

  2. Register your test with the lab via an online portal (full instructions included with test kit)

  3. Post the test back to the lab using one of the Royal Mail’s Priority Post Boxes where possible.

  4. The lab will analyse the sample and email you the result (usually takes between 24-48 hours).

Always be sure to follow all instructions included in the box. If you are travelling please check with your airline how far in advance of boarding you need to complete your test and please make sure you leave enough time for the lab to process your result as well.

While the national testing programme is in place for those with symptoms of COVID-19, those without symptoms might need the test for different reasons. Many countries and airlines now insist on proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before letting people travel and lots of employers want to get their staff regularly tested to help ensure a safe work environment.
